Unless otherwise stated, this Policy describes and governs the information collection, use, and sharing practices of Browser Recorder with respect to your use of our Chrome browser extension for screen and audio recording ("Services") we provide and/or host on our servers.

Information You Provide Directly to Us

Device/Usage Information
We may automatically collect certain information about the computer or devices (including mobile devices or tablets) you use to access the Services. Data We DO NOT Collect
Browser Recorder is designed with privacy as a core principle. We want to be clear about what we don't do:
- We do not collect, store, or transmit your recordings to our servers
- We do not track your browsing history or activity
- We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties for marketing purposes
Data That Stays Local
All recordings and processing happen entirely on your device:
- Screen recordings are processed and stored locally on your computer
- Audio recordings (microphone and system sound) remain on your device
- Extension settings and preferences are stored locally in your browser
- All editing and processing of recordings occurs on your device
How We Use Your Information
We may use the information we collect from and about you to:
- Fulfill the purposes for which you provided it.
- Provide and improve the Services, including to develop new features or services, take steps to secure the Services, and for technical and customer support.
- Send you information about your interaction or transactions with us, account alerts, or other communications, such as newsletters to which you have subscribed.
- Process and respond to your inquiries or to request your feedback.
- Conduct analytics, research, and reporting, including to synthesize and derive insights from your use of our Services.

Service Providers

Chrome Extension Permissions
Browser Recorder requires certain Chrome permissions to function. Here's what each permission is used for:
- Display Capture: Required to record your screen, specific tabs, or application windows
- Audio Capture: Required to record microphone input and system audio
- Camera (Optional): Only used if you enable the webcam overlay feature
- Storage: Used to save your extension settings and preferences locally
- Downloads: Required to save your recordings to your chosen location
These permissions are only used for their stated purposes and never to collect or transmit data about you or your activities beyond what is described in this Privacy Policy.
Security Measures
We have implemented technical, physical, and organizational security measures to protect against the loss, misuse, and/or alteration of your information. These safeguards vary based on the sensitivity of the information that we collect and store. However, we cannot and do not guarantee that these measures will prevent every unauthorized attempt to access, use, or disclose your information since despite our efforts, no Internet and/or other electronic transmissions can be completely secure.
Your recordings and data are stored exclusively on your local device. We recommend following best security practices on your own device, such as using encryption and secure passwords, to protect your locally stored recordings.
Important User Responsibilities
While using Browser Recorder, please be aware of your responsibilities:
- Always obtain proper consent before recording others in meetings or calls
- Respect copyright laws when recording streaming content
- Follow your organization's policies regarding recording of work-related content
- Be mindful of privacy laws in your jurisdiction
- Ensure you have the right to record content before doing so

We will continue to evaluate this Privacy Policy as we update and expand our Services, and we may make changes to the Privacy Policy accordingly. We will post any changes here and revise the date last updated above. We encourage you to check this page periodically for updates to stay informed on how we collect, use and share your information.
